We really can afford to continue to do nothing about the climate issues that effect our planet.
It really does not matter that there is no ice at the North Pole
I think the big upside is it creates all these great items to put in our parent child stories:
“when I was a young lad they had *ice* on the North Pole, and they had big fish called whales in the ocean”
There is an IT position available at TEAR.
Please let people who you think might be interested know.
More details can be found at the TEAR website
Ever since the Switchfoot gig, I have had the refrain “this is your life/are you who you want to be?” running through my head.
If your sick of being called up by marketing forces trying to persuade you to buy something, the government is here to help!:
we shall see…
As some of you may be aware Kate, Micah and I have been involved in a little “community living experiment” for the past 7 or so months. We have been sharing a house with another couple and learning what it means to truly share. It has been a great learning experience, with some tough and difficult times, but good to do.
The point is that we are planning to move on (out) as the other couple is having a baby in May and we all agreed that it would be in all our best interests for those guys to have a safe, homely environment to go through that.
So, we are on the lookout for a place.
If you’ve nothing planned for the weekend, then it would be a great idea to check out the Sustainable Living Festival.
Lots of interesting exhibitors, ideas and the like. Very interesting concept is by Anvil who help people build straw-bale-houses !
Further, my IT power requirements could be offset via some help by these guys
A very interesting article exploring the relationship between stewardship of the planet and peace (to use positive terms) or between poverty and terrorism…
As people of faith we need to shift more towards dealing with the causes of evil – ie. injustice, rather than wasting energies on patching up the effects…

These two words are quite representative of Kate and my lives right now for two reasons:
The challenge of Micah:-, on Sunday morning Kate gave birth to our son Micah Jedidiah Edmeades. You can see the details, story and photos on his page
The Micah challenge:- I have decided to move on from CBMI and have accepted a position working for Tear, looking after their IT.
I’m a little zonked after a crazy couple of days and haven’t had a chance to catch up on things for a few days…plus I haven’t even started my new role yet! More details on both o
So study is all finished? What are you going to do now?...
And I have an answer….!
I have accepted a job working for CBMI as a “database officer” which will be a great blend of a technical IT role and a training role. Start at the end of Feb/start of March…just as Kate winds down her time.
So, if you had $100 to “invest in the kingdom” what options would you consider? (for a bit of background, see Burkie’s post )
Local, National, International?
One off ‘gift’ or try for something sustainable?
If it was $200?
$400?
