For Old Testament Theology we are working our way through Brueggemann’s Old Testament Theology and man is it messing with my head. But, in a good way. It is challenging many aspects of my understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures, YHWH, life, interpretation, the church and it’s message.

My sanity is Christian Formation which is looking at devotional classics, the Spiritual disciplines and various vital traditions.

The final piece to coping is new music

Andrew’s sermon yesterday was all about the congregation exposing themselves to new, diverse, cultures and situations and environments and the like. My reaction was, yeah that is a good thing and then I came to the dangerous part: what happens when people just expose themselves to more of the stuff they want? To spending money on heading overseas to a “different culture” that is New York or London? So in my typical fashion, if the message isn’t wholly and always true reject it.

But that is not right! So Kate and I talked about it for a bit yesterday arvo and only this morning did the response come. Yes we need to expose ourselves to the variety of things that are out there and we can only pray that the Spirit is working in our lives and guiding us into the necessary challenging envoronments/situations/relationships that we need to grow.

Well it has taken a few years, but I have finally got a permanent blog set up.

My email setup wasn’t working well and I was missing emails so we decided to get a hosting and email package that works out pretty well.

Now to set things up properly
