Spent Friday listening to Ken Blue speaking about spiritual abuse and the kingdom of God. Some very interesting thoughts that I will get down later this week.

Kurios played at a small festival on Saturday. Had a good time, played 2 new songs and had the thing professionally videoed.

Over the last couple of weeks I have been thinking a lot about liberty and freedom and the gospel. Nothing coherant has come out of that process yet, but I am more aware of the things we do that are so enslaving, or not about the freedom and abundant life of the “good news”. Our language and practice reflects our human tendency to structure, to formalise, to generalise etc. These are not necessarily bad things in themselves, it’s just that without a good grasp of the issues they turn our daily, dynamic, personal relationship with God into a Sunday-oriented, religious, ‘going through motions’ sort-of habit that gets us down on ourselves when we fail to maintain the latter and never see the dynamic blessings of the former…a lose – lose situation.

To better understand freedom – to be free to think whatever and not get worried, to be free to be loved by God as he wants to love me…
